Taylor Gauthia, LPC-Associate, supervised by Dr. Maria Peters, LPC-S, is a compassionate and empathetic counselor who is passionate about enhancing the well-being of children, adolescents, and families. She specializes in children with trauma, anxiety, depression, foster care, self-esteem, and children with learning disabilities. She prioritizes fostering a supportive and non-judgmental environment that allows children to heal and develop into well-rounded adults. Taylor provides a person-centered approach to therapy with emphasis on unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. She integrates an eclectic approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy approaches (DBT), and Humanistic therapy. She ensures that every session is geared toward the diverse needs of each client.
Before joining our practice, Taylor spent 4 years working in an inpatient eating disorder facility, working with adolescents and young adults with eating disorders. Prior to that, Taylor has 3 years of experience in ABA therapy, thus where she gained experience with working with children who are neurodivergent.
Clients who work with Taylor can expect a therapy space that is empathetic, nonjudgemental, patient, and deeply committed to helping them navigate life’s challenges. Taylor empowers her clients by providing coping skills, emotional regulation skills, and confidence building exercises that will allow clients to acquire resilience and confidence.
