Role Play Therapy
What is Role Play Therapy?
Role Play Therapy (RPT) utilizes the framework of tabletop role-playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons) to help clients explore their identity and practice real-world skills in a safe, 'low-stakes' fantasy environment.
In these sessions, the 'Game Master' is a trained therapist who guides the narrative to help players navigate conflict, practice assertiveness, and collaborate with a team to solve complex problems.

- Social Connection: Overcoming social anxiety through character interaction.
- Executive Functioning: Managing inventory, tracking turns, and planning multi-step strategies.
- Emotional Regulation: Learning how to handle "critical fails" or unexpected story shifts in a supportive space.
- Perspective Taking: Stepping into a character’s shoes to build empathy for others.
